Tip prices and rules you can check in a minute
Is The Tip Open? is run by The Contract Studio UK Ltd. It puts each council's tip charges, free DIY allowance, van permit rules, booking rules and opening times in one place, in the same layout for every council in England and Wales.
Where the information comes from
Only from councils' own websites, and the websites of the waste authorities and contractors that run tips for them. Every page links to its source and shows the date we last checked it. Prices are copied as the council writes them.
How often it's checked
Councils usually change prices in April, and opening hours change with the seasons. We recheck every council at least then.
Always check before you travel
We aren't a council and can't book slots or issue permits. For bookings, permits and last-minute closures, use your council's website.
