Free DIY allowance

'Each north London household can take DIY waste capable of being fitted into two 50 litre bags, four times in any four week period. This includes concrete, brick, stones, pebbles, sand and gravel.' No charges listed; nothing says excess can be paid for.

From Camden's pages, quoted or summarised.

In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.

Good to know

Camden's own site is Regis Road. NLWA rules apply at all north London RRCs, so the other NLWA-managed sites are listed. Barrowell Green (Enfield) is Enfield-run and needs booking, so not listed. Household chemicals and solvent paint go to the City of London free hazardous waste collection. Christmas: Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day (Hornsey Street closed 25 Dec and 1 Jan only)
