Free DIY allowance

Council says 'HWRCs are free to use by only Doncaster residents in a private/domestic vehicle'. 'Restrictions are in place on the quantity' of hardcore/rubble/soil and of wood from a small internal DIY project; limits are in a separate 'Guidance on Construction and Demolition Wastes' document (not found). Building work waste is excluded from household waste.

From Doncaster's pages, quoted or summarised.

In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.
