Council's price list

Free DIY allowance

Dorset Council residents: 'You can bring up to 16 bags of DIY waste over a maximum of 4 visits within a 4 week period.' One bag is about a standard 25-litre rubble bag; a small single item (e.g. ceramic sink) = 1 bag, a large item (e.g. bath) = 4 bags. DIY visits must be booked.

From Dorset's pages, quoted or summarised.

In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.
