The council's pages didn't describe a free allowance.

In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.

Vans, pickups and trailers

Permit needed: Free

Permit for vans under 3.5t, pickups, trailers larger than 6ft x 4ft or with more than one axle; 12 visits per household per year; electronic permit plus booked slot. Refused for landlords, commercial addresses, second van at same address, etc. Hire vans: book a slot, bring hire agreement showing a Hull address and resident's pass or proof of address. Motor homes under 3.5t need no permit.
