From Knowsley's pages, quoted or summarised.
In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.
Vans, pickups and trailers
Permit needed: Free
Appointment (free, booked online in advance) needed for vans of any size and trailers 2-3m (external box), cars with rear seats removed and single-cab pick-ups. Limited to one vehicle/household per week, maximum 12 visits a year (including garden waste). Any time on the booked day.
Do I need to book?
No booking needed for cars
Cars do not need to book (unless towing a 2-3m trailer). Vans/large trailers book a day, not a time slot.
