Free DIY allowance

Free allowance of construction and demolition waste from residents' own work at their own home, per visit: 'less than 100 litres of loose waste that is capable of being fitted into two 50 litre bags; or, one large item no bigger than 2000mm x 750mm x 700mm'. 'The free allowance will apply to one visit per week (every 7 days) across all sites per household' and 'is across all waste types, not for each waste type, e.g., a resident with one slab and one toilet, would be charged for one of these items.'

From Leicestershire's pages, quoted or summarised.

In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.
