Council's price list

Free DIY allowance

'Each household can dispose of up to 3 sacks (1 black bag is equivalent to one sack) per week of building type waste for free at the recycling centre. This does not include asbestos. There will be a charge for any sacks containing asbestos. (Please note: a week is 7 consecutive days from your initial appointment). You will have to pay a fee for larger loads.' Larger loads and asbestos must go to Briton Ferry.

From Neath Port Talbot's pages, quoted or summarised.

In Wales the English DIY waste rules don't apply, so each Welsh council sets its own limits. What this council says is shown above.

Vans, pickups and trailers

Permit needed: Free (issued automatically with booking)

'Householders with vans, pick-ups and double axle trailers can access the recycling centre but require a permit. When you book a time slot a permit will be issued automatically. Residents are allowed a maximum of 12 permits per year'. Single axle trailers need no permit. Tipper/flatbed vans and large 7.5t vans not allowed.
