From North Lincolnshire's pages, quoted or summarised.
In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.
Vans, pickups and trailers
Permit needed: Free
Free permit for vans and flat beds up to 3,000kg, pick-ups and crew cabs, and trailers 1.8m x 1.2m or larger, sides 0.4m or over, or with more than one axle. Cars, smaller trailers and Land Rover-style vehicles with seats need no permit. One vehicle per household; posted to the registered keeper. Vans over 3,000kg and sign-written vehicles refused. Hire vans need a house clearance permit (two visits in two weeks, two a year; charges apply for plasterboard, soil, ceramics, hardcore, rubble and tyres).
