Free DIY allowance
'DIY waste from small scale projects carried out by the householder themselves can be brought to the Chalvey Household Waste and Recycling Centre up to 4 times in any 4 week period. Beyond this, you will be charged. You can dispose one of the following for free: two 50 litre bags worth of DIY waste (standard size black sack) or one large item of DIY waste (2m x 0.75m x 0.7m)'. Must check in with staff and show proof of address with photo ID, or pay for all DIY waste

In England, councils can't charge householders for their own DIY waste up to two 50 litre bags, or one item up to 2000 x 750 x 700mm, per visit, for up to four visits in four weeks. They can charge above that. Check your load.

Slough residents in vans/pick-ups or vehicles over 1.7m go to the Waste Transfer Station (weighbridge) on the same site, Mon-Fri 9am-4pm, Sat 9am-12noon, closed Sun and bank holidays; domestic waste there free for Slough residents; hi-vis and hard hat required. Max trailer 1.5m long x 0.91m wide. RBWM residents use Stafferton Way
