Swansea tips: charges, permits and opening times

Wales

What the tip charges

We didn't find a published price list on the council's tip pages. Check with the council before taking anything unusual.

Free DIY allowance

The council's pages didn't describe a free allowance.

In Wales the English DIY waste rules don't apply, so each Welsh council sets its own limits. What this council says is shown above.

Vans, pickups and trailers

Permit needed: Free

Permit needed for vans (no longer than 5m, no rear seats, not a flatbed), single-axle trailers up to 1.8m bed length and sign-written vehicles. Permit holders can only use Clyne or the Llansamlet Baling Plant, 12 visits in any 12 months. Apply online with the original V5, matching proof of Swansea address and a photo of the vehicle; up to 15 working days by post. Vans hired for 3 days or less need no permit, but bring the hire agreement and proof of address. ANPR in use.
